Our Ambition
AIGLE ROYAL The German military mission moved there permanently in 1903, under the command of Colonel HUNTER, who made FOTO the first German military post in Cameroon. In June 1921, Dschang was declared capital of the West district. It remained so until the day after Cameroon’s independence on January 1, 1960, when it lost this provincial administrative function and became simply the capital of the Menoua department. This explains why Aigle Royal de la Menoua is one of the oldest clubs in Cameroon’s soccer elite.

OUR MISSION

LE RENOUVEAU. THE RENEWAL. On June 23, 2005, Aigle royal de la Menoua's 2-1 win over reigning champions Cotonsport de Garoua at the Cenajes stadium marked an unexpected comeback for the club's many fans after 15 years in D2. Having beaten Racing in Bafoussam (1-0), Unisport (3-0), Canon (1-1), Tonnerre (1-0) and Union de Douala at the Stade de la Réunification (2-1), Cotonsport de Garoua inflicted their first defeat of the season on the reigning Cameroon champions, l'Aigle royal de la Menoua made a comeback to the top flight and finished the season as Cameroon vice-champions, which enabled them to take part in the preliminary round of the CAF Cup against Ghana's Ashanti Kotoko. In 2008, they reached the final of the Cameroon Cup, only to lose 4-2 to Cotonsport. And as is so often the case, participation in the CAF Cup (Round of 16 against Bayelsa United of Nigeria) was followed at the end of the 2009 - 2010 season by another run, and a surprise comeback against Njalla Quan in 2011. This is an opportunity to pay tribute to all those who, over the past 80 years, have helped write this history. Claude KANA

About US

AIGLE ROYAL DE LA MENOUA

AIGLE AND DSCHANG, A SHARED HISTORY.

While all the other soccer teams in Cameroon’s West region are fairly recent arrivals, the existence of a team in Dschang as early as 1932 can be explained by the city’s own history. The historic capital of today’s West region, Dschang was first visited in 1895 by the German ZINGRAPHE, who was leading the second military expedition from the FONTEM base in the South-West.

WHAT WE DO

LA CHUTE LIBRE.

Borrowing from huge financial deficits, the team had to drop back down to the 2nd division just one season after their ascent. President TSOBGNY KOPA, strongly criticized by people he considered illegitimate, in view of all the sacrifices he had made since taking over the team, resigned to create VAUTOUR de Dschang, who, within 2 years, had clinched a place in the first division. At the time, supporters of the Aigle Royal de la Menoua could hardly have imagined that the team would experience the darkest period in its history. The passage through purgatory would last 15 years, 15 years during which the team almost disappeared completely. It was finally in 2004, under the leadership of president Pierre NGUEFACK, that El Pacha succeeded in climbing back into the 1st division.
